| Introduction | I'm a Dubai-based petrol-head, and yes, I really am that old - maybe I should have started saving up for a rally car sooner. They say wisdom comes with age, but I'm still waiting... We got involved in the off-roading scene when we arrived in 1991, and one thing led to another. By 2001 we were marshaling for the Desert Challenge, and in 2006 we joined the Sweep Team. We started competing in 2008 and since then we've had our share of triumphs and disasters (mainly the latter!) - all of which are chronicled here. 'The Beast' is a 2008 Nissan Patrol with a 6 litre GM LS2 engine, twin 2.5" Radflo shocks all round, built to FIA T1.1 (prototype) specification for cross-country rallies. |
