| Introduction | Conroy aka “Selector C” was born in London in the sixties, during the baby boom... Selector C, top Galaxy Radio DJ, grew up in an era during which Ska and Rock Steady were predominant. Being an avid listener from a young age, Selector C was immersed in the ‘reggae vibes’ with which he is now synonymous. He loved the cultural heart of the music, identifying closely with it whilst developing an acute musical ear, later enabling him to experiment with mixing sounds. It became evident that his appreciation for music of many genres combined with his natural skills would ultimately become more than just an interest and developed into a full blown passion. In the beginning Selector C’s story began in 1977 with the advent of ‘ATRA INTERNATIONAL,’ the sound system developed by some of Selecta C’s closest friends. This arose as a result of common musical interest sparked by free flowing positive vibes. |
