Introduction Alewife was a mostly instrumental combo, but now mixing in the mesmerizing vocals of Beverly Gibson, headquartered in Oak Park, IL, specializing in the latin-flavoured surf/exotica, with forays into space rock, fueled by obscure and esoteric covers. Colin Toline, Miguel Gonzalez, and Alex Haussmann are the principals, with occasional contributes from friends and loved ones. At other times it morphs into a jam combo at parties and events where dancing is at a premium. Bay Area psychedelia, 70's punk, British invasion, metal-tinged rock and rootsy swamp and cajun grooves have all passed over the transom, with contributes from a bunch of McNeils (Jack/James/Emily/Ben/Will), Chuck & Ben Rosene, Duff Peterson, Mark Jarasek, Kris Kertgen, Joe Fournier, Stephen Slivka, Adrian Fortis, B.A. Rosenblum, Joe Hoffman, and Dave Kay.
