| Introduction | My name is Jonathan Song. I was born and raised in Michigan. I graduated high school in June 2004. After high school, I enlisted in the United States Army where I served as an infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. I served in various positions from rifleman to team leader from January 2005 to May 2009, which included two deployments to Iraq. After my separation from active duty, I transitioned to the Michigan National Guard where I served from June 2009 to February 2011. At the same time, I enrolled at Oakland Community College in Auburn Hills from September 2009 to May 2011 and received an associate of arts degree in liberal arts. I then transferred to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where I completed my undergraduate studies from September 2011 to May 2013 and received a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics with a concentration in pure mathematics. I am currently a graduate student and teaching intern in the Secondary Master of Arts with Certification (SecMAC) program and the Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship at the University of Michigan's School of Education with the aspiration of becoming a secondary educator in Mathematics. |
