InterestsSEEING SOUNDS: Christine Doelling graduated from the George Washington University with a degree in American Studies and Africana Studies. While at George Washington she travelled to Accra, Ghana to executive produce a collaborative mix tape between American and Ghanian Hip Hop Artists entitled “Diaspora”. After returning she assisted in the production of the 2008 National Geographic All Roads Film Festival. Christine is still working with National Geographic as a marketing assistant and occasional writer for National Geographic Music programming. She also is the co-founder of LunchBox Theory Productions, an event promotion company in Washington, DC. LunchBox is dedicated to bringing global underground music to the Washington, DC area while promoting community health and peace.
Favorite moviesJUST THE TIP: Writer, slam champion poet, recording artist, educator, and founding member of The Getback, <span style="font-weight:bold;">Rafael "Mr. Getback" Casal</span> is one of the few multi-talented undeniable rising forces in the performance world. A 2-time (Inter)National BNV Poetry Slam Finalist Champion and 3-Time cast member of Russell Simmons' Def Poetry on HBO, Rafael has shared the stage with the likes of Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, KRS-ONE, Floetry, Kanye West, Saul Williams, Alanis Morissette, De La Sol, Dead Prez, Floetry, George Clinton, Carole King, Lyfe Jennings & numerous others, performing in front of crowds of up to 30,000. Most recently, Rafael has released his full length debut LP As Good As Your Word, was a featured writer for Handbook of Social Justice in Education by Bill Ayers, and co-wrote The One Drop Rule; a Hip Hop theatre piece directed by GOLDIE award winner Marc Bamuthi Joseph in collaboration with San Francisco Jazz Ensemble and Alvin Ailey tap instructor Jason Samuel Smith. He is currently touring & workshopping his one-man show, gearing up for his mixtape release "Monster", and continuing his work as Creative Director for First Wave, the Hip Hop theatre-based performing arts program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Favorite musicTUESDAY FIX: Daveed Diggs is an actor, educator, composer, rap and spoken word artist who graduated with a degree in Theater Arts from Brown University in 2004. He has many California and regional credits including most recently Pacific Rep Theater's Troilus and Cressida (Troilus) and A Comedy of Errors (Duke), The SF Playhouse Six Degrees of Separation (Paul) and Jesus Hopped the A Train (Angel). Diggs also teaches Rap and Spoken word classes at James Lick Middle School and at the Marsh Youth Theater and gives workshops throughout the Bay Area, New York City, and New Jersey. He has been a teacher in residence with the Arts Literacy Program in Providence, Rhode Island and a teaching artist for the national youth spoken word organization Youth Speaks. As a writer, Diggs has written several plays in verse including: Sweeter Than, a play based on the writings of Harlem Renaissance poet Jean Toomer, which was produced by Rites an Reasons theater in Rhode Island; Big Shoes, a solo performance piece; and He is currently co-writing and performing in a new play for the Living Word Festival called The One Drop Rule which will be directed by acclaimed artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph. In the New York Area you can see Diggs perform as a new member of The improvisational theater/rap event Freestyle Love Supreme.
