| Introduction | I am an artist. metalsmith. student. gardener. cook. recycler. wanderer. and dabbler. I used to be a photographer but decided to give it up professionally and be an artist instead. My art is 80% photography but still, I identify myself as an artist rather than a photographer. I do not shoot weddings (let's leave that to the pros) or portraits of families and babies (except for fun now). I am way too young to be a grandmother, yet I have the most adorable granddaughter EVER. My new mother-in-law seems to think that it's a little odd that I take pictures of my food but if that's the strangest thing she has noticed about me, I think I'm doing ok. My (new) husband often sits down to a plate of whatever new recipe I am trying out and channels Dorothy Parker with an emphatic, "What fresh squash hell is this???" He claims to hate squash but has discovered that he loves it. We eat 80% vegetarian, mostly whole/real food, local when we can. |

Avoid laughing? I would just say it every chance I got and laugh.
