Introduction Impassioned yoga teacher and conflict and development professional...trying to maintain the delicate balance in my life while riding the Shakti wave, dancing with Kali, and surrendering at feet of Lord Shiva. “We can no longer turn a blind eye to the realities of others. The reality that you live in is not the same reality that I live in, nor that which the woman in Northern Sudan lives in, that which the the family in rural Nebraska or the children in Northern Uganda live in, or that which the people of Iraq, Palestine, Northern Sri Lanka, or Colombia live in. We were all given this lifetime as a blessing for our souls to do something profound as human existences, to uplift each other, and increase awareness and consciousness. This is not only the responsibility of activist, policy analysts, and development and conflict resolution and transformation specialists; nor is it the solely the responsibility of the leaders of governments around the world. It is our collective responsibility: we must all take responsibility for raising our awareness and being the change that we wish to see in the world.”
Interests I don't usually fit well into categorizations and lists, but I'll try to oblige here...Yoga (Aghor Yoga lineage, Kundalini, Anusara), meditation, international development and conflict transformation (keep it local and community-based), international mediation, anything outdoors - especially hiking and kayaking, reading, writing, going to shows, music, traveling to obscure places...and rationalizing and relishing in my most beloved vices
