| Introduction | I have been in education for over 30 years. My roles include the following: a classroom teacher at elementary, middle school, and high school and professor of special education. Research interests are the teaching of reading, especially for children at-risk for school failure, and teacher preparation. I have been involved in higher education since 1992 and have consulted with families and school districts on law and special education and on topics of effective instruction. I am an advocate for children in both private and public schools. |
