| Introduction | I live in South Buckinghamshire with two teenagers and a crazy hound. I originally grew up in West Sussex so have always been lucky enough to live close to rolling green hills and an abundance of inspirational nature. I have a BA in 3D Design, and in the early 90s worked as a buyer gaining a valuable insight into the world of retail. After starting a family, I retrained as a Design & Technology teacher in Product Design and Textiles (to A-level) encouraging creativity in my students for over 15 years. In more recent years, various health issues caused a change of direction for me and I started to create my own sketchbooks. Initially this was as a form of Art Therapy, but I received so many compliments on my designs that I made the decision to develop this work further into a range of products. Every design originates from one of my sketchbooks which are full of mixed media explorations. Inspired by the colours and textures of nature, my designs are interpreted by a variety of materials and techniques then developed into original images to be used on a range of homeware pieces. |
