| Introduction | when we were little, my sister and i had they type of memory binder where you paste your picture + enter info about height, weight, favourite games, grades, what your child wants to be when they grow up...my sister + i would look forward to filling it in every year. the two things i remember with complete clarity is writing "none of your business" under the section for weight... and an entire list under what i wanted to be when i grew up; architect, journalist, lawyer, model, artist…thinking there are so many things to see + do, how do you choose just one thing to pursue? i'm still a little all over the map - i'd like to make a career out of learning, but i'm not sure i even have the discipline for that. to complete a section "about me" with "i have a loving family, and shiny new fiance who i love more than most along with his 7yr old daughter...we have one dog, a failing garden, + work more than most people i know except for my parents” doesn't really say anything about me as a person. those are pretty much the details we give to Census Canada so we can become a statistic. this is my outlet for notes, sketches, observations i've made...to find my focus. |
