Introduction	Evelia began drawing and painting at an early age, earning a scholarship to attend adult art classes from the Dayton Art Institute at age eleven. She later graduated from The American Academy of Art in Chicago and embarked on a highly successful commercial art career, creating artwork for products that were sold at several of the nation’s top retailers. Her work in the 1990s at Antioch Publishing in Yellow Springs resulted in her artwork appearing on bookplates, bookmarks, and journals that were successfully sold at stores such as Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target and Borders.
