| Introduction | In January 2008, Manhattan Theatre Source launched Writers' Forum. What started out as a handful of Source "regulars," has grown into a group of 30 writers, ranging from those just starting out as playwrights to award-winning and nominated writers such as Joan Tewkesbury (screenwriter of the award winning film NASHVILLE), Joe Pintauro (SNOW ORCHID, THE DEAD BOY) and Pulitzer Prize-nominated Richard Vetere (MACHIAVELLI). In January 2009, the Forum will mount 3 series of one-acts and 3 full Mainstage Productions. We are calling this event InGenius, and we aim to make it a regular production feature at the Source. What's especially exciting about this is that we've decided to do this as a collective, with the Forum serving not just as the writers, but as the producers, supporting each other as we get our works on their feet. |
