| Introduction | An Australian artist whose practice is based on contemporary experiences of landscape. Since completing a Graduate Diploma of Visual Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) van Gils has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Australia and Internationally. Her work has been selected for inclusion in nationally regarded art prizes including The Fluerieu Art Prize (SA), The Mosman Art Prize (NSW), The Whyalla Art Prize, The Tattersall's Club Art Prize (Qld) and The John Leslie Art Prize (Vic) amongst others, and internationally has been a 3 time finalist in ArtKudos and winner of Art-Interview prize. After a lifetime in Melbourne, Amanda has recently relocated to Hervey Bay in Queensland with her artist husband, Vito Manfredi, and their young son.
