| Introduction | Mae: Remember that first comic book you ever read? Or, that first movie you saw in the theater that made your heart race and opened your mind to fantastic worlds? Or, that book you got lost in that one summer which you occasionally re-read just to feel it all over again? That is what Get Stinky is about. We are not about nostalgia; we are about taking that joy and wonder of discovery and injecting it into our daily lives. To us, it is through comics, collectibles, movies, books, and toys. Once upon a time, there was a comic book store in Arizona called “Fat City”. When I was young, and frequented the shop every day (a quick bike ride from home after school) I asked the owner why he called the shop “Fat City”. The owner said “Fat City” was a summer day with a comic book and a Coke. Paradise, in so many words. Get Stinky is about that. Those of us who remember reading Archie comics, seeing Star Wars on the big screen, and playing with He-Man and Transformers will know what Get Stinky is about. Just because you grow up doesn’t mean you have to grow out of such things. Jay: Okay, I like punk rock music, comic books and tacos. I prefer Snorks over Smurfs. |
