About me

Gender Female
Occupation Volunteer
Location Barnsley, United Kingdom
Introduction I'm a mature perpetual student. I've been studying with the Open University since 1998, history mostly. I enjoy volunteering at the local Archives transcribing old documents and helping other people with their Family History queries. I like to think I'm pretty good at IT for someone of my age group, so I can often assist there as well. I've been researching Family History for over twenty years, and I've been a Campaign for Real Ale member longer than that. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease just over six years ago and had to finish work four years ago. I recently reinvented myself as a Local History speaker, currently specialising in WW1 Soldiers and War Memorials.
Interests My other interests include Real Ale, Family History, Science Fiction, and for escapism, a nice historical novel.
