| Introduction | I've been studying Waynesburg, Pennsylvania architecture since 2008, funded by a grant from the Sprout Fund. Working with local historians and a local artist, I created an historic walking tour brochure. I lead tours and give power point presentations. The Waynesburg District of the National Register of Historic Places includes hundreds of significant and contributing buildings that represent every era of American construction from the early 19th century through World War II. It's a valuable asset that can be used for economic revitalization. Since 2008, I've been invested in my hometown, rehabilitating two key historic buildings that have a total of six commercial spaces and nine apartments. My tenants and I are making a difference in this town. It's rewarding to give back to Waynesburg, the place that spurred my life-long love of history and architecture. |
