Introduction An anthropologist by trade, education and inclination, Charlie taught the subject at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, for 25+ years. He retired in 2001. Among other things, being an anthropologist allowed Charlie to live with different peoples all over the planet, including African pastoralists in East Africa, Tibetan lamas in Nepal and India, and Navajo Indians in the American southwest. He naturally learned lots of things, including how cultures influence the states of mind of people, and how culture is both an adaptational strength and a trap for individual minds seeking the truth of being and existence. This blog is dedicated to those seeking the truth of the human condition. All others need not apply!
