| Introduction | My name is Nathanael Callon. I am a photographer for the U.S. Air Force, and have created this blog as a means to keep friends, family and random other people informed of my whereabouts in the world and also to display my views through my profession. Many would consider military journalism as a one-sided viewpoint of many current events. While this may be true to an extent, nobody tells me how to take a picture. Photography is an interesting venue of expression. I can take a photo, write a caption and send it out into the World Wide Web and each person will look at it and have their own opinion of both what is happening in the picture and of the topic it happens to be about. I have seen my photos on web pages that are polarized on their view of the war one way or the other; my photo is still on those sites and is still the starting point of both sides of discussion. That is why I believe photography cannot be moderated and polarized for just one side of the story. Feel free to say your opinion when it comes to what you believe. I do not believe there is a right or wrong, although I have no problem trying to explain why I think the way I do. Enjoy! |
