Introduction | When I was twelve years old, I decided, without compromise, to be a writer. That's paid off professionally and personally. Now, as I teach, I have 15 years of freelance writing behind me and a lifetime ahead of continuing to create stories, encouraging others to explore their own nature and experience on the page as they take steps to create. My kids have been a great inspiration in fiction and creative non-fiction and the historical novel I've been writing has proven surprisingly familiar. I can't begin to describe what that means, but sit me down one day and we'll chat about it. |
Interests | Helping new writers discover their voice. Of course, I love my family, friends, reading, travel, walking, cycling! |
Favorite Movies | I just love movies in general as long as they don't leave me depressed. A thriller is always a thrill. I love a modern romance and clever humor. |
Favorite Music | Eagles, Sheryl Crowe, Beatles, Five for Fighting, Train, Coldplay. |
Favorite Books | I can only tell you the authors I love: Sue Miller, Tracy Chevalier, Anita Shreve, Elizabeth Berg, Beth Goldner, Abigail Thomas, Philippa Gregory, Judy Blume (for what she gave me when I was a kid) |
The first time you had your shoes taken off - how surprised were you to see that you still had toes?
I think I was more surprised by the taste, but who can remember?!
