Introduction	My name is Sara and I have lived in Texas my whole life. I am Mexican-American and I would label myself as an Independent who leans Conservative. Before taking this class as a degree requirement I found politics to be interesting. I have strong opinions but still a lot to learn. I believe in the Constitution and the freedoms it grants us. I believe in earning things and not having them handed to me. I believe in free agency and that people should be held accountable for their actions. My father, who was a Democrat but now leans Conservative, has influenced me all the while telling me to think for myself. My boyfriend is a diehard Democrat and sometimes I listen to what he has to say. I hope in taking this class I will leave with a better understanding of what makes the state of Texas superior to all others.
