Introduction Lawton joins HCCA after working for several years as an environmental consultant on the Fort A.P. Hill Army Base in Virginia. His previous land management experience involved endangered plants surveys, prescribed burning, timber management, GIS and developing management plans. Lawton has a M.S. in Forest Ecology from Virginia Tech and a B.S. in Forest Resource Management from Clemson University. He is a Certified Ecologist and an Outward Bound alumni. When outside the office, Lawton enjoys snowboarding, photography, video editing and long distance hiking. He has completed end-to-end hikes of the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail. Email address: lawton@hccaonline.org
