| Introduction | Jill of all trades, master of some. Some of this, some of that. Whatever intrigues and inspires me at any given moment. Honestly, I enjoy so many forms of self expression, even I don't always know what I'll be doing next. Writing in my journal, creating my next batch of papers, cutting gluing stamping, painting a picture, painting a room, or simply swaying to good music while relaxing here. Basically I'm a creative soul who attempts to convey my impressions... sights, sounds, feelings- moments and meaning- that I experience through out this journey. Whether it be the written word, the visual arts, or the slow and soothing crocheting my Grandma taught me, I have an innate need to always be creating. Above and beyond that, I'm Mom to two (nearly) grown sons, Shane and Seth (the loves of my life), and a life's partner to a sweet, loving, handsome man, Todd (my one true soul mate). Added in the mix is a menagerie of cats and dogs (not to mention the possum and coon who frequent each night). Mostly, I'm a thinker. A life-long contemplator. Sure, sometimes that's not always the best thing, but on the grandest of occassions, there's insight and revelation, and the tiniest pretty thing. |
| Interests | Anything art and crafts, reading, writing, music, movies, nature, outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, gardening, my kids, my fiance, my pets, etc. |
| Favorite movies | Harry Potter series, and any suspense thriller. Favorite lately was Across the Universe and the Bucket List. |
| Favorite music | Love the good ol' 70s rock and roll, and lots of new stuff, too. Love Jonny Lang, Tori Amos, Christina Aguillera, 3 Doors Down, Audioslave, etc., etc., etc. Oh, love the acoustic guitar rhythms of William Ackerman. Quite the eclectic mix, I know! |
| Favorite books | Out of the Dust, a YA novel by Karen Hesse, but also loved the Harry Potter series. I'll read just about anything that captures my attention within the first few pages. I used to love Stephen King, but he's lost his luster as far as I'm concerned. A recent find is Jodi Picoult, and I also love anything by Jane Hamilton. Good poetry strikes me also. And, of course, any book or magazine on artistic/craft techniques. |
