| Introduction | Terminal Cancer. Maybe 3 months to live. That's what my son Mark heard from his doctors early in 2005. He had just settled in to his dream job- respiratory therapist in Saipan and now the word was that he was going to die. He called and left a message on my phone answering machine: "I'm in a bit of trouble Mom." A lot of possible types of trouble ran through my mind, and not one of them were the words I was about to hear from Mark when I telephoned him back: "Terminal Cancer" These are only some of Mark's adventures (often with his mom) in Thailand and the US, in trying to live life while being told he was dying and seeking/getting treatment without health insurance. |
