| Introduction | Dr. Cassandra Allen Holifield serves as the Director of Northwest Georgia Learning Resources System (GLRS) directing and coordinating special education services for 16 Northwest Georgia local school systems, Northwest Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports (GNETS), and the Georgia School for the Deaf. She previously served as the State Consultant for Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) for the Georgia Department of Education and also served as an active participant on the Continuous Improvement Monitoring Team. Dr. Holifield is a well-known respected and visionary leader, educator, and presenter having presented several times nationally and internationally. Additionally, Dr. Holifield served as a Special Education Ambassador to South Africa in 2005 and has been recognized by the Manchester National Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals in the field of Education from 2006-2009 and is also a published author, most recently of “The ABC’s of Response to Intervention (RTI) and Behavior Next Steps: A Practitioner’s Guide to Implementation”. |
