| Introduction | This was me helping my mum. I thank her for my green fingers and I am pleased our children (now grown up) have inherited our passion for gardens and the outdoors. NOS (Number One Son) and his wife enjoy growing veg and NOD (Number One Daughter) is a florist. We are a family who love good food so homegrown, homecooked meals are important. I used to be a Home Ec Teacher and food writer and also sold my baking, preserves and garden produce at a local market. NOS is into competitive cooking and gardening (read about that later!) and Doc nudges me out of the kitchen from time to time and treats me to his homemade pasta or his signature dish, tarte tatin. NOD keeps our feet firmly on the ground though. She reminds us that sometimes healthy eating just won't do and that chocolate has its uses. |
