Introduction For the first time that I can remember, I came up with a real New Year's resolution! I’ve always loved baking sweets, but when it came to actual meals, I was a low maintenance/prepared foods or standard bowl of cereal kind of girl. With my morning exercise routine and a walkable commute to work, I found myself with some extra time in my evenings. During my baking exploration, I was always excited to try new and interesting recipes. So I figured, why not broaden my horizons to more than just sugar? To build on top of last year’s resolution, in 2013 I’ll be adding a new spin. This year I will be exploring all kinds of new recipes, both savory and sweet, to fulfill my “cook the books” resolution, by making at least one new recipe a month from the cookbooks I have on my shelves. I’ll also be borrowing books from friends and family to broaden my challenge. In order to remind myself of my resolution, document my progress and share my creations, I will post about my recipes, in all of their success and glory…and probably a few kitchen fails as well.
