| Introduction | Worked as Field Archaeologist in NE England for 12 years. Then 12 years as history teacher in Newcastle upon Tyne. Now a writer. Married to a magnificent housekeeper. I have to housekeep for her and generally don't live up to her standards. In 1976 I co-wrote 'Archaeology in the North'. In 1985 I wrote 'The Book of Durham City',the FIRST 20th century history of the City. I co-wrote 'Weardale Chapels' a history of non-conformist congregations in Weardale, County Durham in 1978. Since 1994 I have concentrated on writing poetry which has been published in Acumen, Interpreter's House and Envoi. In 1986 my poem 'In Scogar Museum' was a commended poem in the first Tonbridge Poetry Competition. I've been writing short stories for a while now and not really been looking for places to publish them. 'How Nathaniel saved Doris from a fate worse than death' won the Penshurst Village Short Story Competition 2009. |
