IntroductionHello and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Abi Awotesu, [pen name: Naijerican Girl], a Nigerian-American woman, a wife, and a mom of three, currently living in Katy, Texas. For the past nine years, I’ve been happily married, building a life rooted in love, faith, growth, and plenty of everyday learning moments. This blog is a reflection of that life—the beautiful, the messy, the surprising, and the deeply meaningful. At my core, I am a woman shaped by two worlds. Being Nigerian-American has given me a unique perspective on family, culture, discipline, joy, and resilience. I carry with me the richness of Nigerian traditions—the value of community, respect, and strong family ties—while also navigating life in America, where independence, structure, and opportunity shape daily living in different ways. Blending these two identities is something I experience every day, especially in how I raise my children and build my home. Speaking of home, mine is full—full of laughter, noise, questions, lessons, and love. As a mother of three, my days are rarely quiet, but they are always meaningful. Marriage, too, has been one of the most defining parts of my journey.
