| Introduction | I was raised in the small town of Chiloquin, OR. Fifth of 10 siblings. We faithfully attended church every Sunday and my childhood was full of happy memories. As a teenager, my faith was tested and I felt I could never measure up to the standards I believed God had place on me, not having a real understanding of His love and grace. At age 15, during a painful time, I decided God did not exist. For the next 13 years, I tried to fill the pain and emptiness in my heart with alcohol, drugs and craziness, but was never able to find lasting relief. Until the day I met Jesus. Then everything changed, dramatically. My heart became filled; I knew a peace and a joy that I’d never experienced before. I knew I was forgiven and loved exactly as I was. I wanted to live the rest of my life following the One Who loved me. I know that this is a journey I cannot take alone. I am forever grateful and in awe of the many loving family and friends (new and old) who have come alongside me to bring God’s love to those who have lost their hope. |
