| Introduction | Dr. Lew Johnson completed his MA degree in educational assessment and worked for over 5 years as a psycho-educational assessment consultant before becoming director of special education programs for a school district in Maine. As the director, he attended hundreds of parent meetings and interpreted thousands of test reports. He completed doctoral studies in special education with an emphasis on assessment and program evaluation. He has completed numerous research design and statistics courses and has researched and published on the effectiveness of multimedia in teacher education. Work history includes Associate Professor in special education, CTO for a school district, and director of Testing, Accountability, and Research in North Carolina. Currently, CEO of Data Smart LLC and an Oracle APEX developer specializing in data systems for school districts in North Carolina. Lew is a strong believer in the power of context, process, and outcome data to describe complex issues related to instruction and illuminate the path to instructional improvement. |
