My blogs
| Introduction | I am a retired psychologist who loves to quilt and travel. I began my quilting career in 1997. My mother was my inspiration – she was a quilt artist for many years. I enjoy using many different quilting techniques from piecing, paper piecing, fused and hand appliqué to a pounded leaf technique, and machine quilting. I have with only one exception, quilted all of my own quilts. I have made many different kinds of quilts from traditional to art and contemporary quilts. Usually I prefer making quilts that are no larger than about 70” X 70” because that allows me to create as many quilts as my mind can conjure up. During my travels, I enjoy photographing the interesting designs of the regions (windows, floors, tile motifs, carved motifs, etc.) which I hope to employ in some of my quilts one day. I find that these designs are timeless and appear in many different places and many different contexts. |
