Introduction	"What are you?" It is a common question that I am asked fairly frequently by complete strangers. They pass me on the street and stop in their tracks. They stare at the grocery store before mustering up the courage to approach. "What are you?" It's such a poorly phrased question, but always asked with the same bewildered look. I want to be sassy and respond with, "Um human." But, instead I know what they are alluding to. "I'm half Japanese, and half German." I let that settle in and I get to see the realization, understanding, and acceptance wash over their faces. Then I'm hit with a closing response that usually sounds like this, "Oh, I thought you looked very exotic." This is a blog about being Half Japanese. A blog about how to dress for your shape, wear makeup to accent your unique features, and style your hair.
