| Introduction | I am thirty-five years old. I am married and have one daughter. I am a Kindergarten Teacher. Recently I decided that I am sick of living paycheck to paycheck and suffering when an unexpected cost comes up - like my car needing to be fixed. I bought Ramit Sethi's book "I Will Teach You To Be Rich!" and have made MONEY my project. Of course I would love to easily win the lotto or inherit some grand amount of money from a rich relative- but it hasn't happened yet. So, I decided that if I was going to "get rich" or at least get smarter about money I was going to have to do it step by step. This is my blog journaling my journey. As a teacher I am off work for the summer (lucky, I know) so I obviously have a bit more time on my hands now so I hope to make a good bit of money this summer and according to my money-guru Ramit "once you start earning, it becomes much easier to earn more." |

| Favorite books | I am currently rereading all of Maeve Binchy's, Adriana Trigiani's Books, Amy Tan, Elizabeth Berg. I have to note that I did just finish reading Julie and Julia and of course was inspired by it. Do I expect TV interviews and throngs of devotees? It would be nice...but my goal is personal - to get my family into a financially stable and comfortable place while putting money away to one day: 1.leisurely retirement, 2.send daughter to college, 3. remodel house for said leisurely retirement. |
