Introduction Getting old, getting sadder, heavily wrapped in reality, widely travelled, linguist (will undertake German or French or Dutch to English translation work, for a fee (!) - enquire if interested), mathematically gifted, open-minded. I have lived in 6 countries, worked in 7, and married someone from an eighth (so I understand how the world works). Worked as an IT specialist for 28 years and still want to get back to working full-time in IT. Unrepentant tolerant atheist (believe what you want as long as you do harm to nobody else, I reserve the right to dismiss all beliefs as superstitious nonsense with no basis in reality). Very international, cosmopolitan, deeply intellectual, usually reasonable and unemotional, if very shy. Life-long non-smoker, drink wine or beer occasionally. Tired of being broke, tired of ridiculous economic policies based on debt, tired of false promises of better times coming. Heart attack survivor. Happy to be living in my adopted country (became a naturalised citizen in 2019, my response to the Brexit nonsense) - there is nowhere that I have seen that is better, even if I dislike some of the politicians here.
Interests Politics (particularly trying to persuade the polemicists to get real and look at the facts for once), sport, travel, learning languages, bridge, writing
Favorite Movies Goodbye Lenin, Cyrano de Bergerac, The Roaring Twenties
