Introduction	When news of the earthquake that occurred in Chile this past February first broke, my initial reaction was shock and panic. After getting in touch with family members, those emotions changed to concern and empathy towards the people that had been affected and I was moved to take action. Although it might seem like a challenge to help from over 5,000 miles away, there is much that can be done to help family, friends, and even strangers. Viva Chile is a way to do just that. Viva Chile will be a night of art and music to help those that lost their homes during the earthquake. It will begin with a silent auction of donated Chilean art, followed by musical performances. It is my goal to raise enough money to fund this event by asking you for just a dollar. And if you pass this along to your friends, it will make a difference.
