| Introduction | I'm a Christian first and foremost, but people normally ask so many questions about why I look the way I do and act the way I do... That's because I've chosen to worship and fellowship with Mennonites. While I identify with the culture and the denomination... I also don't quite fit the typical template for what is considered average or normal :) I also wouldn't have that any other way. So, that's my disclaimer... I don't claim to always represent the Mennonite community in the typical way, so don't judge the whole community by what I say and do. Secondly, I'm a teacher. I love my students. I will often refer to school related things on here, but will be keeping it very vague for safety, ethical and legal reasons. I work at a school with students who have emotional disabilities, psychiatric issues, behavioral problems, and a host of other mental and behavior challenges... It's never boring. |
| Interests | I enjoy people and teaching my students and learning along with them. I enjoy writing and discussing random things and long talks about any topic that comes up, except possibly sewing, babies, being a housewife, cooking (although that can be amusing), canning, gardening, or any other typical Mennonite woman typical conversation. I'd rather be discussing mission work, people's lives and struggles (not gossip though!), occasionally politics and the stock market, educational related things, deep philosophical and Biblical questions, city life and special needs kids :) I also enjoy just living life with those around me and figuring out how to be Jesus' hands and feet to the environment He placed me. Life is never boring and I love discussing the dilemmas of everyday living and showing my "Kids" how special and loved they are. Yup, I'm not a mother, but I have more kids than I can handle sometimes :) |
| Favorite movies | I don't really watch anything, however; I do preview and watch history related movies and documentaries... Kinda have to being in a public school like atmosphere. |
| Favorite music | I like all kinds of music but am picky even within genres. I listen to music that calms my soul, not disturbs it... Which I won't go into, but some things that calm me may surprise you! |
| Favorite books | I enjoy reading the Bible. I also enjoy history related books, as well as, biographies. I can't help but get in the mood for kids books and Dr Suess occasionally :) |
