| Introduction | Alissa Lukara is the author of Riding Grace: A Triumph of the Soul, a powerful, poetic memoir of finding healing, wholeness and grace on her journey through childhood abuse, incest and adult chronic fatigue syndrome. Alissa is founder of Lifechallenges.org, a nonprofit website empowering individuals in 97 countries worldwide with tools to overcome adversity. Featured in top selling SARK’s books, Cosmo Girl and recommended on 150 websites, Lifechallenges.org is recognized by associations such as Assn. for Humanistic Psychology, American Chronic Pain Assn. and Art and Healing Network. Alissa has been interviewed on radio and television stations nationwide. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, and she hosts the Oregon television program, Transcending Life Challenges. She offers presentations on the perspectives gained from creatively facing challenges—including Writing Grace—Writing as a Path to Transform Your Life. She is a writing coach and family constellation practitioner helping writers live creative dreams. Alissa has lived in Cleveland, Denver, San Francisco, L.A. and NYC.
