| Introduction | i live in the outer hebrides, in the western isles. in 2004 i bought a house on a three acre croft, but unfortunately, due to the scottish legal system failing me, i am only able to use one and a half acres,,,,,,,people around here cant 'remember' - or dont want me to have what the may class as theirs.. it has been tough, and with their being no map based register, im afraid this situation will carry on, until someone has the guts to tackle it. in the meantime, i have decided to write a blog in the hope that i can expose what can only be classed as a scam......after all, would you be happy to hand over thousands for the tenancy of a croft - with all your intentions of making a good business - only to find your solicitor 'omitted' to explain that what you are necessarily shown by the sellar and have paperwork for, isnt actually what you may end up with! another way of putting it.....you can be 'sold' a piece of land you have no legal title to, no rights to use the piece of land you have been shown - by the solicitor also - and should you discover you have paid for something you dont have......there is nothing you can do about it! |
