Introduction	My law practice has included individual and business clients with civil, criminal, domestic/family, administrative, employment, and immigration cases. I have represented clients before federal, state, and local courts. Over the course of my professional life, I have been the president of successful start-up business enterprises and have held teaching positions on undergraduate and graduate faculties. In recent years, I have limited my law practice to cases involving immigration law. I was born in Virginia but have lived, studied and worked in eight States and in Germany, Switzerland and Mexico. I earned a bachelor's degree and three graduate degrees, including a doctorate from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. This broad experience underlies my commitment to the international community in America. It is part of the reason why I insist on thinking and speaking of this community as people, persons - not "aliens" or "foreigners."
