| Introduction | My fascination and love for specialty coffee began in 1996 when I became a Barista. I am fortunate that my initial learning of coffee origins was led by someone who had an experienced palate and loved teaching. Over the years, it has been important to me to not only pay the teaching forward, but to continue my own learning. My work experience runs the gamut from brokering coffee and equipment to selling for a Midwest Roaster to managing a district for the Siren. Now, I am taking the time to observe and experience the growth of specialty coffee in a town that has had its eyes on food, but is slowly seeing the connection with coffee. I hope to find those who are pushing the envelope and who want to color outside the lines. I want to see and experience coffee that has been farmed, roasted and brewed by people who genuinely care about their integrity and about the integrity of the coffee. Here's to one of life's wonderful elixirs! |
