Introduction I am an owner of Spelt Right, an all natural baking co. specializing organic spelt products. As an entrepreneur, parent, food enthusiast, and activist, my views, interests, and whereabouts are subject to change as quickly as the weather on a Maine summer's day. This Blog is a vehicle to teach others how to make kid friendly all natural, wheat-free recipes, relay stories of parenting, friendship, entrepreneurship, and just being. Spelt Right began with the need of our son to have food that he could enjoy without adverse reactions. My child was quickly cast away by professionals when he was much younger, labeled with ADHD, Asperger's and other disorders. Using my experienceas a child advocate attorney, I questioned the diagnoses and recs for drugs treatment. Instead, we explored the root causes of his on again off again behavior. We learned that he was reacting to certain foods and food additives. Our son experienced an amazing transformation after eliminating common wheat (replacing with spelt), and removing all artificial additives, and other junk from his diet. By age 9, he carried no diagnoses and was placed in the gifted program in school. We hope you find our blog useful.
