| Introduction | When I left California in 1998, I never thought it would take 13 years to get back to the West Coast. Or that I'd be a patent litigator, published law review article author or professor during my time in the Midwest. I also never thought when I did come back it would be to Portland, Oregon. But here I am. Although I passed the Oregon Bar Exam, I'm not practicing law right now. I've written two manuscripts I'm starting on another and I've completed all the coursework for a PhD. Between writing my dissertation, trying to keep up with my kids and various social engagements my days are full. |
