| Introduction | Welcome to my rollercoaster journey to hopeful motherhood. After a diagnosis of diminished ovarian reserve and attempting everything natural to get preggars, I’m now moving on to the big, scary world of ART. I’ve had laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, more blood work and ultrasounds than I care to remember. I’ve done (and am still doing) acupuncture, homeopathy, and yoga. I've done one round of IUI with injectables, which failed. I'm slated for two more rounds this fall. IVF is not an option for us. I’m 30 going on 55 in ovary years. Early menopause, I dare you to come and get me! I’m trying to remain positive and optimistic that one day hubbabubba and I will conceive naturally — just like one of those awesome miracle stories that everyone shares when they think you’re in need of some cheering up. Barring miraculous conception, hopefully ART will work. Barring that… well, adoption will complete our family. |
