| Introduction | Who is ProudTejana? I’m a girl (still feel like a girl even though I’m pushing 50) lucky enough to know the best of both worlds - American and Mexican. I was born and raised in Texas by strict and very traditional parents who emigrated to the U.S. from Mexico back in the early 60s. I am blessed to know and love both cultures from Rock and Roll to Cumbias; Meatloaf or Birria; 4th of July and 16 de Septiembre, Christmas and la Virgen de Guadalupe –I’ve experienced and loved each tradition, song, food or experience for what it represents and how it shapes my life. What is a Tejana, basically a Texan of Spanish or Mexican descent. And I’m proud of my country and my heritage. Here you’ll find my rants and raves on anything and everything. Soy nacida en Tejas de padres mexicanos. He tenido la suerte de conocer y vivir dos culturas - y las dos han formado gran parte de mi vida e influyen en todo lo que hago. |
