Introduction Scott Alderfer has worked for nearly 20 years as an environmental consultant specializing in cleanup of contaminated soil and groundwater. He is a Licensed Geologist, aspiring fly fisherman, Phillies fan, husband, father, gardener. Despite Scott's day job, the Stream Hugger is not a technical blog. This blog is written for the layperson who wants to hear informed opinions about protecting and preserving the natural world we all share. Scott earned BS and MS degrees in Geological Sciences from Lehigh University. Prior to studying at Lehigh, he earned a BA in Journalism at Penn State. Scott sates his conservation urges by serving on the board of his local Trout Unlimited chapter and serving as his township's Arbor Day chair. Scott previously served on his township's Environmental Advisory Council for seven years, advising the Board of Commissioners on protection and stewardship of natural resources. One of the township’s prized resources is the Little Lehigh Creek, providing recreation, wildlife habitat, and a drinking water source for the downstream City of Allentown. He lives 0.25 miles from the Little Lehigh, which is designated by the state as a High-Quality Cold Water Fishery.
