| Introduction | I was never a runner. Once in 2005 - I tried to be. I started running, signed up for a 5k and I finished it. Then I stopped. In 2008, some friends were going to run the Great Wall of China Marathon and I somehow convinced myself to give it a try. So off to China I went and ran the GWC half marathon! I fell in love. I loved running in a new country, meeting runners from all over the world, and that feeling you get when crossing the finish line. And so, naturally, when my friend asked me if I wanted to run in Antarctica [shortly after returning from China], I said YES! Sign me up. Now...almost 4 years later, we are actually doing it. And reality JUST barely hit me that I'm going to be running in 6 short weeks and I'm no where near ready! I'm not even in as good of shape as when I signed up nearly 4 years ago! But somehow, someway, I'm going to do this thing! Follow along as I try to figure out how to run 26.2 Miles in the South Pole with the penguins. |
