| Introduction | Brent Thompson failed art class in grade 10. Yes, he failed art. After several years of moping, he made his return to the arts by starting to draw comic strips on post-it notes (or similar products from other brands) during his day job. This way he could screw around at work and still make it look as if he was being productive. Brent then started posting his comics on a blogging site. To his surprise, they became relatively popular. Inspired by this moderate level of acceptance, he was then published in a series of Edmonton based compilation books, Tales from the Harbor Volumes 2 and 3. It was here that his artwork was mistaken for that of a 12 year old boy. Brent consoles himself by claiming that his works or more about the ideas/narrative rather than the quality of work. |
