| Introduction | I shoot and I eat. Photography and cooking are my two passions in life. Photography has always been of great interest to me and I have studied it at different institutions. Food is something I cannot stop thinking and talking about and you can ask anyone who knows me. I guess it started from a very young age because my family owned a restaurant for most of my childhood and for a long time and it was a place that brought everyone together. I can clearly recall Monday afternoons watching my mum prepare her special marinade and the smell of crushed coriander roots, black pepper corns and garlic. I love to cook and create things from scratch. I love filling up my notebooks with recipe ideas and ingredients to research along with mini sketches of how I would present my dishes. I love watching cooking shows, collecting food magazines, cookbooks and DVD'S. I love browsing through cookware shops amongst the old ladies as I maneuver myself around the narrow aisles trying not to knock over any glassware. I enjoy going to the grocers, butchers, fish markets and farmers markets to get some inspiration from whats fresh and in season. I just love how food can bring people together. |
