Favorite Music Where to begin? Anything live. Indie rock and alt country are my faves... I got involved in the music business right out of college in 1981, co-producing the "Radios in Motion" show on WDET-101.9 FM with host Mike Halloran. This legendary show was the Detroit area's main exposure to punk, New Wave, and indie music at the time. I answered the phones, greeted guests, put out a fanzine and read the concert calendar on-air as "Amy Attraction." In 1983 I moved to Ann Arbor, Mich., to work for concert promoter Prism Productions. We put on concerts around the Ann Arbor-Detroit area, but my favorite experience was hanging out at fellow promoter Joe Tiboni's Ann Arbor club, Joe's Star Lounge. I saw a lot of bands on their way to fame there, such as R.E.M., the Replacements, and Los Lobos. Eventually, I became a civilian and got a "real" job.
Favorite Books The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy Harry Potter series Mostly nonfiction I am currently writing a book based on my courtship, engagement, and relationship with Larry Middleton, and how my metaphysical beliefs helped me cope with his cancer diagnosis. It started with emails that I sent to a group of friends and, as the group grew, people urged me to publish it. It will be called "Singularly Blessed."
