IntroductionMy parents were Lutheran and my earliest memory of the church is peeping through the sanctuary doors as the grown-ups lined up and silently got a cracker and a drink. My parents got involved with a Friends meeting with a good Pastor (Don Green) and preschool. After a few years at the Quaker P-K I went to a Baptist school for 1st and 2nd grades. Dad was called into the ministry. We moved to Indiana and lived on a Quaker campus, I attended a public school, and mom taught at a Catholic one half the day and was the principal the other half. I was a band (and computer) geek in middle and high school. The first time I saw the ugly face of racism was in a "Quaker meeting" in Eastern North Carolina. That experience chased me away from the Church for a time. I became a veteran of the US Navy and became a modern day pagan. Later, encouraged by their missionaries, my investigations into the LDS church and their scriptures forced me to re-examine the Bible, which lead me back to Christ and the Friendly testimonies which are so lacking in many meetings today. I am currently working as a laborer removing decades of old paint from old doors and door/window frames.
